At what age should anti-ageing start?

At what age should anti-ageing start?

If there is one question we hear often at Aestheticare, it is this: “When should I start anti-ageing treatments?”

Anti-ageing does not begin when the first deep wrinkles appear, but much earlier, through the right prevention and care of the skin.

Skin ageing isn't caused by age alone

Skin ageing is a natural process influenced by many factors. It falls into two main categories: intrinsic (chronological) ageing, which is related to the passing of time, and photoageing, which is mainly caused by chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Scientific studies have shown that the largest share of visible signs of ageing is due to photoageing. This is particularly important, because it means that a large part of premature ageing can be prevented with the right daily habits.

Prevention starts early

From around the age of 25, the skin's natural collagen production begins to decline gradually. This process is entirely normal, yet over time it becomes visible through the first fine lines, reduced elasticity and changes in skin texture.

That is why the best strategy is not to wait until deep wrinkles or laxity appear. Proper prevention helps the skin maintain its quality, firmness and radiance for many more years.

The most important anti-ageing habit

If we had to choose just one habit that truly protects the skin from premature ageing, it would be the daily use of sunscreen.

Applying a sunscreen with a high protection factor (SPF) correctly, together with reapplying it often when needed, contributes significantly to protecting the skin from photoageing and to maintaining skin health in the long term.

Which treatments can support anti-ageing?

Choosing the right treatment always depends on the needs of each individual skin.

One of the most effective treatments is mesotherapy (microneedling), as it activates the skin's natural regeneration mechanisms and stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin.

At Aestheticare, the treatment is performed with the Micro Pen Evo, a certified microneedling device that allows us to adjust both the depth of application and the active ingredients – such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins and peptides – according to the needs of each skin.

For those looking for a gentler treatment, even during the summer months, an excellent choice is the Mesoject Gun by Toskani. This is a needle-free mesotherapy that uses electroporation and pulsed-wave technology, allowing deep penetration of active ingredients without needles and without downtime. The result is deep hydration, revitalisation and improved skin quality.
